Music has always been a very influential part of my life in a variety of ways. I had my first set of drumsticks bought for me when I was only 3 years old, however did not discover my true love for drums and beats until I was a teenager. My other love for electronic music pulled me in the direction of wanting to become a DJ.

My most influential music is all the music I had growing up, especially as a teenager – so 90’-2000’s RNB, rock, dance and pop live in my head rent-free. In DJing I also really gravitate towards the Melbourne bounce and hardstyle scenes – these genres can sometimes be quite niche in the music community and it’s always an interesting challenge trying to introduce elements of these styles into the sets that I do.

The name DJ Blindside, comes from the fact I was born with a degenerative eye condition that now means I am legally blind. Although that itself is not a very fun fact – I have spent my life trying things even some fully-sighted people wouldn’t attempt. From working on cars to performing in front of hundreds of people at a gig – I’ve never let my disability stop me, and I never will
